Joaquin Regalado

Joaquin RegaladoJoaquin Regalado has over twenty seven  years of experience as a professional Hairstylist, Educator, and Image Consultant.

A former hair salon owner, Mr. Regalado is currently the co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Hair Salon Educators, LLC – a service based company focused on hairstyling education and artistic creativity.

Mr. Regalado has extensive experience in the hair salon industry including serving as a Fashion Collaborator for two top modeling agencies in Mexico namely “Avenue” and “Maniqui”, as well as serving as an Image Consultant for two television broadcasting stations in Mexico.  Joaquin is also highly experienced in bridal hairstyling, and has worked as the chief hairstylist for various bridal shows and fashion shows in the United States, as well as for several catalogs and magazines including ‘Glamour’, ‘Elegant Bride’, ‘Brides Exclusive’, ‘Eden Bridals’, and ‘Tu Boda’.

Joaquin’s experience includes working as a collaborator for fashion reports for the Siglo 21 newspaper, and also for the Vidal Sassoon International Team in Guadalajara and Mexico City. Joaquin also formerly served as the Director of Hairstyling at three consecutive beauty pageants in the State of Jalisco in Mexico.  Competitors in this pageant often go on to represent Miss Mexico, and eventually the Miss Universe competition.  

Having moved to the United States in the early 1990’s, Joaquin brought his experience to the Salons of Toni & Guy where he served as a member of the artistic team for various Giorgio Armani and Neiman Marcus Fashion Shows.  Joaquin later went on to serve as an instructor at Toni & Guy’s hairstyling academy in Long Beach, CA, and in 1997 was named Toni & Guy’s Artistic Director.

Joaquin has since worked at several other hairstyling salons as an independent hairstylist and educator.  These various salons include the Hampton Salon, and Salon L in Newport Beach, CA, and currently at the Images Salon in Corona Del Mar, CA.

Mr. Regalado has received various accolades for his work in the hairstyling industry both in the United States, and abroad.  These include honorary awards for hairstyling work presented at the Hall of Fame of Photography, and two 2nd place awards for work he did on fantasy hairstyling.  Joaquin’s other awards include an “Outstanding Hairstylist” award presented to him by Toni & Guy, as well as a “Best Customer Service” award.
Traveling around 7 times a year to Mexico to teach other hairstylist different classes.

Joaquin earned his hairstyling education at the Institution De Belleza Rodelfo Melo beauty school in Guadalajara, Mexico.  He received his California Cosmetology certification in 1996.
